When this was first an issue I was first to say they will take care of it, they need to nip it in the bud, it's going to cost them a lot of money to recall those radios already sold and shipped to dealers and delay release but what choice did they have. I was wrong.
Yup, agree, I watched for a while and saw that a lot of people seemed to be ok with buying something brand new for over $700.00 and send it in for repair right away but brand loyalty can be a powerful thing. I also use to M gear, XTS5000's and Astro Saber's and you're right, no scanner beatst them for audio punch.
As long as people will tolerate a radio having issues and buy it regardless, there's not a lot of motivation to fix it via recall etc. I imagine at some point new ones leaving the factory will have all the bugs worked out, I've just never been a fan of being a companies beta tester and with the level of buzz I have now, combined with the other items we've all experienced, that's how I feel... but we really have no other option so it is what it is. Especially here in simulcast hell Phoenix.
PS: I also have a SDS100, don't use it much, it doesn't hum (hint hint Uniden).
