On my SDS 200, I want to translate and display UID's as an Alias (y)

Example:

When the scanner receives UID 60501, I want the display to read "A Dispatcher".

When the scanner receives UID 32533, I want the display to read "837 A".

I have thousands of UID's to program.

I added UID to the Display.

How is this accomplished? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Populate the UID tab for the system in Sentinel. One column has the number, the other has the text alias/name.

I'd bet you have your UIDs as an xls?
Actually they're in a text file that was produced by ID Tracker on my 996XT.

They're not in a usable format so I'll need to enter them manually, unfortunately.

Here's a small sample:

32529,"119",48,5616,8016
32532,"1340",4816,5616,6416
32533,"837 A",48,5616,16048
32534,"685",816,4016,5616,8016,16016
32535,"495",2416,7216
32536,"954",48,816,4816,5616,5648,6416,7216,16048
32537,"451",1616,1648,2416,7216

The numbers after the UID Alias are the channel identifiers.

I think I'm going to try ProScan. Thanks!

I use ProScan to track the UID's & record the transmissions. Up to 2500 units identified for the State & local systems. Takes a lot of time but it's worth it. Once you get the units identified you can add alerts to particular ones.

I take the TXT file created in ProScan & open it in Excel so I can swap the name with the Unit ID, then I copy/paste into Sentinel.

I need to figure out how to do it all in ProScan so I can cut a few steps out.

Actually, you could use Excell or another spreadsheet to parse those into the correct data for Sentinel.

I still use Sentinel for my "Master" data though I also use Proscan. I keep my UID's in an Excel clone, then copy and paste to Sentinel.

All Sentinel needs is for them to be in the correct order (left to right) and spaces between fields.

I have around 1500 or so.

If you need help - drop me the file (message here should work) and what field is what and I'll tahe a look.

The ProScan Get Clipboard function should do it. Flow is like this: Document (or web page) --- Windows Clipboard --- ProScan Get Clipboard Dialog --- ProScan Database

At the group or channel level, you should see a Get Clipboard button (in color Red). That will import frequencies, TGID's, & UID's from a document.

Steps are:
1. Open a ProScan database in the Favorites Editor.
2. Click a Group or Channel node.
3. Click the Get Clipboard button.
4. The Get Clipboard dialog will appear.
5. Open your document or create a text document and enter the frequencies, TGID's, or UID's in that.
6. Highlight the items to import or Ctrl-A to highlight everything.
7. Mouse right button and select Copy. At this point, the items should be in the Windows Clipboard.
8. Back to the Get Clipboard dialog. Click the first button marked 1. The grid should populate with the items.
9. Click the Import button.

OH WOW, This is a game changer. I just updated my state list from the UID Lookup file in a few clicks. Such an awesome app & creative designer! Thanks Bob!
