Good Morning All. I am looking for assistance from anyone who is receiving and may be able to offer more info.

Recently found a P25 Phase 1 system on 150.710MHz. Using a combination of PRO-197 and some SDR's I have determined 150.710 is a Control channel and the only voice channel found so far is 149.710. I am located midway between Kingston and Ottawa and receive the channels at a 10 X 10. NAC is 5D3.

Several Talk Groups found = 11245, 11259, 11273, 11251, 11235, and several RID's = 112505, 112501, 112503, 112644, 112353, 112310. Conversations are usually short about 2 to 5 seconds and the user does not appear to be a heavy user unless there are more channels.
SDR Example: Sync:+P25p1 NAC: 5D3 TDULC [E] CHANNEL GROUP & USER: tg=11235 src = NONE
CHANNEL RELEASE

Any info would be appreciated as could find no info in the RR dbase unless I missed it
Thanking in advance
Dave

UPDATE: The RR database shows Petawawa NAC as 5DE (SEARS) and TG's as 10xxx while the NAC for what I am receiving is 5D3 and all the TG's are 11xxx numbers.

I doubt that I would receive Petawawa from my location at such a high signal constantly. From the info I am picking up it seems like it is CFB Kingston, (about 35 miles from my location) with talkgroups for Firing Range, Maintenance and about 5 as yet unidentified.

CFB Trenton I receive on the listings for SEARS. Will keep working on the system and update as I find more info.

Thank you all for the info supplied

It would make sense that you have probably found CFB Kingston, due to those previously unknown talkgroups. I wonder why there is no 5D4 NAC found yet?

Thanks for letting everyone know. Maybe more people can help with studying your findings. :)

Hi folks - A bit of an update. Monitoring the system for about 6 hours yesterday and one of their talkgroups seemed to be Communications and they were talking about matched pairs. They were matching pairs of frequencies and having trouble talking on other pairs.

From the gist of their conversations, this appears to be a new site for Kingston and operators are having a lot of trouble. It seems there are other pairs of frequencies as yet undiscovered.
Talkgroups found so far => 11245, 11231, 11259, 11273, 11251 firing range, 11235, 11247 communications set-up.

Anyone finding any other info would be appreciated.

Can you supply a screenshot or something to prove the system ID is actually 5D3? I suspect 5D3 is the NAC, the site probably has an RFSS of 2 and a Site ID of 3 and the system ID is 5DE.

There's a new CFB Kingston system in the database and I suspect it's actually part of the larger 5DE system that all the other military bases are using.

I am using SDR's with Fastlane and all that I am receiving is the System showing 5D3.1 Trying to find more info from the site and conversations. I have managed to pick up what I believe is another voice channel periodically at 140.2350 I do know this is Kingston as Sunday is live fire exercises at the Range out on # 2 highway. Will keep trying for more info and post.

What does the bottom line of Fastlane show when sitting on the control channel?

For Borden, mine shows:

P25 Site:BEE00.5DE-1.1 NAC:5D1

For Meaford, mine shows:

P25 Site:BEE00.5DE-1.2 NAC:5D2

If you hit "n" in the event log, you should see some lines like:

Bandplan BEE00.5DE-6.

150.710 Is the Control Channel (Control Noise) which switches to 149.710 and or 140.235 for the voice. I know SEARS as I listen to Trenton quite often. Thank you for your assistance and will continue to sort it out and post findings at a later date.

We'll get it figured out eventually.

Do you start dsdplus in a DOS window and if so, is there a lot of stuff scrolling by?

If there is, you can move the slider up and the display should halt while you hold it. Look for a line that includes WACN= and SysID=. They should be around the middle of a line that starts Sync-P25p1.

You could also look through your dsdplus.event file and see what it shows for current network and site.

Who knows. It's possible the Signals school there has played with the system and set it up as standalone.
