The database shows TG 1003 as Arapahoe Rescue Patrol. I heard a run a few days ago for an injured person in Rampart Range, near the Teller-Douglas line. The VHF fire guys said that Douglas county SAR was enroute, and then I heard SAR traffic near the scene on TG 1003.

Possible DB error? And 1003 is actually Douglas county SAR?

Don't see a TG assigned for Douglas County SAR actually now that you mention it but remember I would say over 75% of the kids (ARP) calls are mutual aid with Douglas County.

Keep in mind that Douglas still has 154.785 operational and once in a great while some mountain areas coordination is heard on it.

I heard the same thing on Saturday night logging off of the West Creek tower when I was camping on Rampart Range road in Douglas County and I would have to aggree with you. Unless it was a M/A. I also got alot of El Paso S & R activity off of Stanley Canyon and Woodland Park (El Paso 800). Seems kinda weird that Arapahoe County would be assisting Teller and El Paso county unless that TG is shared with Douglas as well.

But what do I know

I was listening to this as well. This incident is what prompted my other post about indexing the CO DTRS by county. I was having a difficult time deciding which SAR team was in Douglas that El Paso was assisting and which TG was active.

I did hear El Paso SAR on VHF tell their units en-route that Douglas was also using VHF and it would be channel 5 or 6 in their radios.

Yea, I got some VHF activity as well, just wish I could have logged some radio id's. I guess I'll have to listen for another incident on Rampart, I'll give it a week or so. On another note, that was the first time I have ever heard activity on TG 1003 and I know there were radios affiliating off of Cheyenne Mt as well as West Creek.

I was also monitoring that traffic, and noted that both the units and dispatcher referred to the TG as "S.A.R. Ops". Perhaps the database should be changed to reflect this alpha tag?

I am still thinking it will turn out to be Douglas county SAR. Arapahoe has two listed:

3062 bf6 D ARAP RES PTL Arapahoe Rescue Patrol Other
1003 3eb D ARAP RES PTL Arapahoe Rescue Patrol Other

Sounds like we need more monitoring to nail it down.

Sounded like MRA 155.160 was linked to it that morning as well which would make sense.

Bringing back this age old topic as it is still relevant to how the DB is marked. I haven't personally listened to TG 1003, but I recently started coming around to the same conclusion as what PRO2006 reached 6 years ago after recalling and talking to Dan regarding hearing a rescue operation in the Strontia Springs area of Douglas County with mutual aid from Douglas County SO, West Douglas FPD, and Douglas County OEM's contracted helicopter N911UH from Rampart Helicopters. I would like to extend this thought to TG 1001 as well.

The reason I believe that TG1001 & 1003 are part of Douglas County Search and Rescue is because how the TGs on the system have been assigned so far. Most of the original Douglas County TGs seem to be in the low 1000s, especially a lot of the DougCo SO and FD TGs, while Arapahoe County TGs seem to be in the low 3000s. I might be incorrect of my DTRS history, but I believe Douglas County's TRS was one of the original system before DTRS was built off of it. If this is correct, then Douglas County would be one of the the first agencies to have their TGID assignments.

I consulted Steve's Trunking Logs for some more information regarding this. What I have found so far is that Radio IDs on TG1003 (the 1027xx range) fill a large block of RadioIDs that have been well established as Douglas County Radios, and radios on TG1003 are very often associated with Douglas Sheriff and FD talkgroups (and TG1001 occasionally). There's also a large presence of Douglas County Dispatch Consoles on the TG. I have done extensive logging of the Silver Heights in the past months and have noticed that there has been a considerable greater rates of voice channel grants and affiliations with Silver Heights when compared to other Arapahoe County oriented sites (Chevron, Lookout Mountain, and Smokey Hill).

While all this data is nice, I have never had this TG programmed into my scanner because it is still listed as Arapahoe County Search & Rescue and therefore haven't actually heard rescue operations on this channel. I was wondering if anyone followed up on this topic and actually determined if these TGs are actually incorrectly labelled and belongs to DCSAR?

Personally, I would never exclude TG's from my scanner without first listening to them to verify what they are. In any event I can confirm that TG 1003 is used by Douglas County SAR, I believe they use 7XX call signs. They usually refer to the channel as "SAR Ops"; perhaps we should move this TG to Douglas County and re-label it to "SAR Ops" or "Douglas County SAR Ops"?

DTRS TG-1001 and TG-1003 both should be changed from Arapahoe to Douglas County.

It makes no sense for them to stay labeled as Arapahoe when there is no evidence that Arapahoe County uses them at all and so much evidence that Douglas County units use it.
