TARPON SPRINGS --

A search for an escaped inmate is underway in Pinellas County Monday morning. Officials said two men escaped from a work-release facility in Tarpon Springs Sunday afternoon, but authorities apprehended one of them Sunday night. The search continues for the second suspect. The inmates were nearing the end of their sentences after serving several years in prison. They were placed at the Tarpon Springs work-release facility learning skills they would need when their sentences end. Now, though, the men may be facing several more years in prison for escaping.

Investigators said Levar Murray, 24, took off from the facility just before 1:30 p.m. He was found several hours later, but the Department of Corrections is not releasing any details of his capture. Murray was near the end of a four-year prison sentence on heroin charges. Corrections officials continue to search for Ronald Williams, 30, who escaped just before noon Sunday. He remains at large. Williams was near the end of a three-year sentence on several drug charges.

The Department of Corrections website shows Williams has a twin brother who actually escaped from the St. Petersburg work-release facility in April. Donald Williams still has not been found. Right now officials said they do not know if the two are together, or if Donald helped his brother escape.

Anyone with information about the escape or the twins is asked to call the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at 727-582-6200.
