Search with scan hold time

I noticed on my 996p2 and 325p2 the search with scan hold time has a default of 2. Would i cut my self short changing these to 0 to speed up scanning? Upman is there a reason for the default of 2?

When set to 2 seconds, the scanner will spend 2 seconds on the search, the go back to the scan list. When it hits the search, it will resume where it left off and search for another 2 seconds, then return to the scan list.

If set to 0, the scanner will search the entire search band one time (which could take many seconds) before returning to the scan list.

Thanks for the info, it clears up thinking that a 0 setting would spend the least amount of time on the search.
Also, good to know that we can control how much time is spent searching and that it will continue where it left off.
