Putting my scanner into SEARCH for new talkgroups on the DOITT 800 system this morning, I came across:
9584 - two females reading off a list of names and calling other people
33216 - possibly TLC as it is using P25 digital and near other TLC talkgroups

33216 = 81C, which equates to 2076 on the ASTRO 25 system. That is listed as ACS Facilities.

I would suggest monitoring the P25 system simultaneously, as some talkgroups are likely being carried across both systems.

Is the goal to move all of the 800 Type 2 system talkgroups from 8192-33216 (or higher) to the P25 system as talkgroups 512-2076 (up to 4096)?

The TGID is actually the same: 2076 = 33216, as they are both 81C in HEX. The RRDB, scanners, and most software capable of tracking SmartZone systems don't display the TGID's in the same manner as the system itself, or CPS for that matter. You will not find "33216" anywhere in the SmartZone system controller or in CPS...instead the actual TGID of 2076 or 81C is used. This is because RRDB/scanners/software take the status bits into account, hence the x16 notation with the TGID.

In any event, the three DoITT systems are linked as they share the ASTRO 25 core and have SmartX site converters in place, so you may potentially see some talkgroups active on more than one system at the same time. Just remember to either divide the SmartZone TGID by 16 to get the P25 equivalent (aka the actual TGID), or look at the HEX values to match them up.

It appears that instead of reusing the old SmartZone TGID's, they are creating new blocks on the ASTRO 25 system as they did with Sanitation, Parks & Rec, DOT. No assumptions should be made regarding the fleetmap on the ASTRO 25 system, and that includes pulling talkgroups from the UHF or 800 SmartZone system to the ASTRO 25 system without first verifying usage (e.g. adding the "Snow Channel" to the ASTRO 25 system in the middle of August )

It just looks like they are maintaining the existing blocks when they move over. Those groupings of a particular agency that are scattered on the 800 SZ system would have to be figured out into new blocks after the others are moved. The FDNY/EMS group is a big one to move. If the ultimate goal is to shift all of the talkgroups to the P25 system, I would guess that they would move over all of the frequencies as well to be able to support the load.

The frequencies are already being migrated. Half of the frequencies that were once part of the UHF SZ system are now part of the UHF P25 cell. The other cell of the P25 system originally started out life as 700 only, but some of the frequencies from the 800 SZ system have been incorporated into that cell also.

Eventually it'll all be one system, although it remains to be seen how long that migration will take. Hard to believe, but the 3A8 ASTRO 25 system first went online all the way back in late 2011. To say that it has been a grossly underused resource until just recently is putting it mildly.

9584 and 17600 sounds like OCME Morgue Operations on the 800MHz side.

The FDNY Division Talkgroups (that rebroadcast FG1) usage on the UHF SZ system seems to have almost all disappeared, I wonder if they have moved to some other platform like WAVE

Picked up TG 13696 on the 800 Mhz system, it was a nursing home calling OEM for a radio check. Probably another alert channel.

Last I heard, there are currently 2 FDNY divisions that are piloting the big E on the trunked system which rebroadcast the handle talkies. Could this be what may have "disappeared" @CqDx ?

As I write this, I am actively hearing activity on DIV-8 and DIV-15 analog talkgroups on the UHF Smartzone system.
