Is the Seeker 800 Antenna still being manufactured? If so, does anyone know where they can be purchased?

Thanks!

I really wouldn't mind to try one of these and see for myself how it compares to the RS 800..

Huge and uncomfortable is a matter of perception, not necessarily important to every individual - but we could debate that until the end of time.

A tad better reception, in my case, means that I (residing in the eastern part of my county) can listen to the western site of my home county with no problems, whereas with the RS I miss all but the very strongest signals. In some instances, a "tad" can be HUGE.

I'd gladly sacrifice a little bit of size to have a transmission recieved with a "tad" more clairty..

Or to grab a frequency during a search that I'd usually missed..

In the scanning/monitoring game, smaller is not always practical.

When I say a "tad" I'm talking about maybe 2 points on a scale of 100.
If the Seeker is 100, and I'm not saying it is, then the RS is a 98.
Note that the diff between the 2 was almost imperceptible which is why the pole was returned.

Summary,
2x the cost of the RS
Huge, uncomfortable
Reception, just a tad better than RS
Having both I would agree. I have an 800 Mhz TRS that comes in with huge noise that is about 20 miles away. Seeker 800 at $$$$ has this TRS come in with "lots" of noise vs. the RS800.
I would agree that personally it was not worth the purchase.

Just curious what you mean "noise" since this usually means something negative. In report card terms, are you saying a "B+" signal vs. say.... an "A" ? or do you really mean you are getting undesirable noise?

Try the Wilson Super-Gainer Antenna Y-881.

A Wilson Y-881 Super Gainer antenna is one of the best.

I Googled it and can't find much info on it. Is it optimized for the 800MHz PS band, or is it a general coverage wide-band?

Thanks!

It's an all around antenna. Not just a dedicated 800 antenna.

It's only about 16 inches and is thin for handheld scanners.

I was talking about that pic that is attached to some of your messages...
