Hi,

There hasn't been any mention of this antenna since 2/2011 and it was without a reply. I was wondering if now that the price is $59.95, is this still a worthwhile antenna for 800 MHz? Is it any better than the RS 800 MHz or the Centurion EXC-806? Is there anything else better than the three mentioned? Has anyone bought one recently? Does anyone still use it?

I used one for a few months on my desktop scanners. It had a slight bit of better reception over the RS 800Mhz duck on a stationary frequency I used to monitor. But it still all came down to me liking and using the RS 800Mhz duck better. The Seeker was very top heavy for a handheld scanner, that bottom gray section contained the BNC connector and it covered the entire BNC jack. Heck I bought that back some years ago when I was new to scanners lol.

Ive tried several high end portable antennas made by comet, diamond and have been generally unhappy with the 800 preformance of all of them. I bought the centurion exc-806bnx years ago and still pound for pound blows them all away especially against the rs-800. The only bad thing about the centurion is the fact its so band specific and deaf on all other bands. Id say the rs-800 is a decent compromise if your monitoring vhf and 800. Id pay the money for the seeker if it really was an outstanding performer on 800 but I to want to see more feedback on it. The covered bnc is an attractive feature to me as i hike alot and the jack on my pro-106 has become worn out and any uncovered bnc is loose fitting and the covered bnc creates a more stable tight base connection for me.
