Seeking power charge cable for C. Crane (original) CC Witness MP3 Recorder-Player.

I bought the original CC Witness MP3 Recorder-Player/AM/FM Radio at a yard sale. But the charge cable was missing. I emailed Crane and they no longer carry this.

Is there another compatible cable? It looks almost like an old Iphone/Ipod port. Or maybe an old, old cell phone. Is there a workaround. I'm confidant using a solder iron and opening personal electronics cases.

Right after starting to sell this model Crane came out with the + (plus model) which seems to be the same except it charges via mini-USB cable. Good move.

There are search responses. But they are not correct - specific to the CCWittness original model.

I'm confidant using a solder iron and opening personal electronics cases.

If this is true, then you can do what I've done in the past.
You open the case, you unsolder the connector that is present, you find a suitable male/female connector for your needs, and you solder the new one on.

I have done this with oddball devices, and I usually end up soldering on a barrel connctor on 4 inches of wire, so that I can use any one of the 10k power supplies that I have in my possession.

Wow... Thats a proprietary connector... See page 12 and 13 in the manual... Good luck finding that stuff...

Yes it is for the plus model... I see the plus model uses a Mini USB port and not that proprietary one...
So that won't work...
