While receiving a transmission on the system that you want to isolate; press and hold down the "HOLD" button until "HOLD" starts flashing on the display. You will then only be scanning that one system.
To resume normal scanning of all enabled systems, repeat the process of holding down the "HOLD" button to release the hold on that one system.
In the alternative, you can also enable or disable systems so that you can scan just those systems that you want to monitor at the moment. This allows you to then scan any combination of systems as you choose. You do this by assigning a System Quick Key to each programmed system and then pressing the corresponding keypad number to turn that numbered system "on" or "off". For systems numbered 11 and above, you will need to press the ".no" button followed by the assigned system number. For example, pressing ".no" and then buttons "2" and "3" would enable or disable the system assigned System Quick Key "23".
Assigning System Quick Keys is best done with your programming software as this will give you a global visual image of how your systems, sites and groups are being number as you go along. Also, you will want to consider the fact that the same Quick Key can be assigned to multiple Systems, Sites and Groups.
Understanding and becoming proficient at assigning Quick Keys is fundamental to organizing and getting the most out of the scanner's Dynamically Allocated Memory. Incredible programming flexability once you fully grasp the basics.
