I am about to send off some scanners to be fixed and in the past I have not sent anything with the scanner but the scanner, antenna batteries and case have not been shipped with the scanner. Now that most scanners come with an SD card , I would imagine Uniden doesn’t need to card to fix the scanner, am I wrong? Should I keep the SD card or should it go with the scanner?

Send it. What if the sd card is part of the problem?

The card holder is somewhat fragile, the less it's used, the better.
Agreed. It's easy to break the holder if you aren't familiar with how they work.

Check with them to see if they need the card or not, I seem to recall seeing Uniden advising to remove the card when sending the scanner in for repairs.

If you have a lot of programming on your card or recordings that you want to retain be sure to back them up before sending the scanner out. You might get it back with a new card or your original card erased and reformatted.
