• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi i saw the gt12 on ebay and amazon for purchase. Does anyone own this radio? How many 2 tone decoding sets can you use on 1 channel? Can you also do both 2 tone decoding and sdc ID on the same channel? Thinking about buying it tomorrow with my amazon gift card and my paycheck. TIA

I've got one but I only use it for FM on ham frequencies. I don't know about the SDC, but I'm pretty sure that the only tone encode and decode is DTMF or touch tones. I don't think this radio will decode two tone public safety stuff. Might want to hold off on ordering if that's what you need.

The only software I have is the iPhone app. The online listing is DTMF 2 tone, 5 tone if I'm reading it correctly. I've only seen a basic operating manual. What is SDC?

DTMF sounds like a phone dialing sound. 2 tone and 5 tone decoding are used for decoding fire dept tones like a pager does. SDC is like Motorola MDC1200 radio decoding radio IDs of whos calling the receiving radio. Usually a ID 4 digit code: 1640 for example.

Do androids have the app? Theres no windows software?
What kind of dual band non goose neck antenna connector would i need?

The Anysecu Radio website and download the GT-12-APP-V1.3(1).7 file which will need to be unzipped. I downloaded it, but I don't have the .7 unzip on my tablet.

The antenna is the common SMA Female. I use a Nagoya NA-701 with some of the plastic trimmed off of the base so it seats fully. The gooseneck antenna provided with the radio actually works very well but is more suited to a Tactical vest than on a belt clip.

File won't extract so, so much for that...
Theyre coming out with a newer version of the cps and gt12. 2 tone and 5 tone will be upgraded on the new motherboard for each new gt12. The older gt12's will be useless for the newer software.

Ah! Any chance you can alert us when that comes available?
