I have a question concerning profiles, or more specifically, the deletion of profiles, in Sentinel.

I've never really played around with multiple profiles in the past; just created my Favorites Lists, transferred them to the radio, and then made modifications as needed. However, within the past few days, I've experimented with making several "test" profiles for my SDS100 (my "primary" profile) and a couple for my 436HP. Now I want to delete all the profiles, and after figuring out the proper procedure for doing so, I have only been able to delete two of them. When I try to delete the third, my computer give me a 'tone' (for lack of a better term) and doesn't delete the profile.

So, my question is...does one profile have to remain in Sentinel for the program to run properly, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for any info / insights provided.

:)

I use Sentinel to program both my SDS100, 200, and my 536. I look at it like this - the profiles are a common pool of everything you have programmed across the board. You have to adjust and manage your Monitor and Download lists for each individual scanner for what you want each scanner to monitor. It was confusing to me at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a great system

Yes, Sentinel needs at least one active profile to run. To delete that one, first create a new one and then you can delete the old one.

Allow me to confuse the issue if I may !!!!!

If you delete a profile it does NOT delete the favorites lists from your scanner.
Those favorite lists probably exist in other profiles.

BUT ........
If you delete a favorites list from ANY profile then that favorites list
gets deleted from EVERY profile. It's gone!

Favorite lists are not "in" any profile. They are completely separate things. It doesn't matter what profile happens to be open when you create, edit, or delete a favorite list; all of your favorite lists will show up identically in every profile. The only profile-level settings for favorite lists are the MONITOR and DOWNLOAD flags.
