Hello All,

I'm having a problem getting my Uniden BCD436HP scanner to scan some of my favorites. I have had a favorites for several years and recently decided to add 2 new ones to scan. The scanner still scans the old favorites but skips right by the new ones.

I'm using Sentinel and have the latest versions and latest firmware updates.

"Avoid" is not activated on either favorite. That transferred over to the scanner and shows that I'm not avoiding either list.

Under “Edit Profile” in Sentinel:

The 2 new favorites are also transferred to the scanner.

In Sentinel both Monitor and Download are set to “ON” for each list.

In Sentinel "Service Type" used for the 2 new lists have the appropriate boxes checked/enabled.

I've tried to add them directly into the scanner and that doesn't work either.

It's been a few years since I've added a favorite so I'm sure I've overlooked some toggle or radio box to check.

Any ideas what I might have missed?

Thanks.....to anyone who can spare some gray matter to help me out...:)

Yeah, this happened to me a few weeks ago. I was trying to teach myself how I could use quick keys for FLs and I was turning them on and off. I would check them as it could be the problem
This is the in the profile then check the FL itself to see which are set.

Thanks for the response....I'm not sure what I'm seeing or should be seeing in the picture(s). Sorry...I don't do this stuff often. A couple or 3 questions...if I might.
1. In the "Quick Keys Status" every radio box is checked...Is this what I should try to emulate?
2. In the bottom area...What determines if "Download" is on or off? Not even sure what "Download" is.
3. Does every Quick Key have an associated "Number Tag"? I ask because my other working favorites are set to "None" and work fine.

I agree with you that I've probably got a 'Favorites' problem. But I don't do this often enough to know, when I look at it, if something is wrong.

But I'm peddling about as fast as I can to keep the bike from tipping over...;)

Those screen shots are directly from Sentinel. You mention Sentinel in your original post so I presumed you are familiar with it.
1. Yes if you want to monitor all FLs by default (FL must be turned on (monitor) in the scan selection)
2. Sentinel holds the Favorite lists. To get them from Sentinel to the 436 you need to "download" them to the 436. If download says off then this profile will not transfer (download) that FL to the 436. So you must have that set to on to transfer the data from Sentinel to the 436.
3 Number tag, no not necessarily. You can see in the screen shot there is a separate column for Number Tag. The one you should be looking at is the Quick Key column to see what is there. That will correspond to the info in #1 above.

Thanks for the response, explanations, and help Computrguy......

Downloads....Oh yeah, DUH, I knew that! I use Sentinel so infrequently I forget and have to relearn every time I add something other updates of the db.... I'm going to make myself a "How To" file so I can go back the next time and "REMEMBER"...Haha.

Yeah...I upload from Sentinel to the scanner....but I've forced myself to practice entering things manually on the scanner too.

Well....since you brought up the quick keys I've been tinkering. I got it to scan the new favorites but I had to set Quick Keys to NONE in everything below the "Favorites" category. So, obviously, I got wrapped around the axle trying to set QK at the different levels.... The procedure to set all them is not so intuitive to me.... I'm sure it's easy once you understand but I get lost in the maze I guess.
