Hoping someone can advise me on the easiest way totransfer entire Radio Reference frequency lists into Sentinel.

In Australia we mostly have to programme a USDS100 scanner manually. For example, I'd rather avoid typing in all the Rural Fire Brigade channels manually (it's a huge list.)

Can I copy and paste into Sentinel some way?

Help appreciated. TIA

Did you buy the SDS100 AMERICAN VERSION or the SDS100E EURO VERSION that should have the entire database in the scanner and update through the internet?

Thank you for the answer but...

I have the Australian Version which still includes access to the American/Canadian data but this is not relevant or useful here down under.
Some local users have already created extensive Australian data bases for some states and are ready to go on exchangeable SD cards or by download but I would still like to create some bases of my own state which is Queensland.

I am quite okay with manual programming, but trying to find a quicker way to enter larger lists thus:

Those are all conventional frequencies.

While there may be no way to add them to the 'master database' in Sentinel, you can add them to a Favorites list. Copy the data from sections of the web page (from the database) into a spreadsheet. You'll need to make the columns order match what Sentinel uses. That, with whatever adjustments are needed, will let you copy & paste into a new Favorites list in Sentinel, at least for conventional systems.

What might work better, though, would be to use ProScan. In ProScan, you can create a conventional system in the software, then load your selection to the Windows clipboard. When you go to paste them into your 'system'. ProScan lets you specify what column from the clipboard goes to what field in your system.

You might be able to do something similar via ARC-536, but I don't have that software, so I cannot verify whether or not it can handle this scenario.

Once you have them into a "master" Favorites list, then you could manipulate them however you wanted, either in Sentinel, or ProScan.

Thank you for the suggestions Steve.

I'll try a few "cheats" to reduce the typing.

Sure wish we had a similar system to you guys in the States, but our patch often gets ignored when it comes to new technology.

Cheers.

Mark and copy that whole document, or part of it, and paste into Excel or open an empty spreadsheet in the free Open Office Calc (if you have it set to tab delimited format). Now you can copy the whole frequency column into Sentinels frequency column and it will expand its rows automatically to the number of records. Copy the exact same amount of channel names and paste into Sentinel.

Set one line in Sentinel to the correct FM or NFM, if the bandplan doesn't match, and copy that and then mark the first row and then last row while holding down shift and paste.

You can't copy and paste CTCSS from a document but as they are using the same tone in a large group you only have to set the first row correctly and then copy and paste to the rest of the rows, while holding down shift. It will pop up a window twice while doing that but just cancel that window.
