The Home Patrol Sentinel and BCDx36 Sentinel programs are specific to each line of scanners, and a little different. Basically, there are more features on the x36 version to address more features on x36 scanners.

That being said, I do share my x36 programming files with my HP-1. You can export the saved favorite lists as HPE files and import them into Home Patrol Sentinel...then load them into a Home Patrol 1 or 2 (I've done both). But I have not tried taking a Home Patrol file and importing it into the x36 version of Sentinel. There are fewer fields, as there are fewer features. Might work, I "think", but some fields might be defaulted to generic values.

I just tried it (HP to x36), and all fields were populated. That is probably because the file was originally written on the x36 version. Not a true test. I do not create files from scratch on my Home Patrol.

Hope that was not too confusing.

You can interchange them via the HPE Export and HPE Import functions.

There is specific SW for the x36 line and the HP-x line. They are not the same, but are both called Sentinel (X36 Sentinel vs Home Patrol Sentinel).
