I'd be cautious of special characters (*&^%) etc. Also, this only works for P25 Trunked Systems, unless they have changed something.

Entering in UIDs works on all system types except LTR and of course conventional.

All the systems I want to Unit ID Name are P25 Trunked Systems.

Exactly the same. For NXDN, the user-set UID tags will override the OTA tags.
