I have all my scanners programmed with the Same TGID Assignment. when I make a change, I always make that same change to all of my scanners.
Example: SDS200 (right) and SDS200 (left), BCD536, etc.
My question is, Can I use a "master file" in Sentinel, for ALL of my scanners or do I have to have a separate file name - for each scanner.

thank you for your time

Let me use a for instance.....
My 100 shows the voltage in the display.
Multiple other differences (target model), etc.

So, I have both a 100 and a 200 profile.

Best to create a separate profile for each type of scanner. One profile for both SDS200s (if you want them both programmed identically), and a different profile for the BCD536HP etc. that would not have all identical settings as the SDS200 would have (such as Display colors, etc.)..

With having a pair of SDS200's and a 536HP, you can use a single profile for all of them. Just be sure to change the target model to reflect which one you're editing, or programming.

I have a 436 and 200. Same favorites lists and one single profile. I just change the target model.

If you want to have unique opening text messages for each scanner.... if you choose SDS200 as the target model and edit the opening screen display to say something unique such as SDS200 (left).... when you change the target model to BCD536HP or SDS100, the opening text message will still be for the SDS200 (left). Only separate profiles can keep unique opening messages for each scanner (if you choose to do that). If you just change target model, the same opening text will be sent to all scanners.

If the opening message is a big deal, then yes, you would need separate profiles. The best way to keep all of them unique while using a single profile, would be to have a text opening for the 536HP, and use an image file for each of the SDS200's. The opening.bmp file is displayed instead.

You may be confusing the PROFILE (scanner settings) with FAVORITES LISTS (which would contain TGs/Sites/Systems/Frequencies/etc).

You can have a single FL shared across many profiles and when you change the FL it will upload to each scanner that has that FL in the PROFILE.

I always limit my talkgroup alpha tags to 24 characters in all of my favorites lists. The alpha tags will fit the display on the BCD436HP, BCD536HP. SDS100, and SDS200. The same favorites list can be used for all of the scanners.
