Sentinel

So prior to my SDS 100 arriving a few weeks ago I had downloaded and installed Sentinel on my computer so I could become familiar with it. I am ready now to hook my 100 up to computer to check for updates/firmware. Is it OK to proceed at this point. I was a little confused because as I understood instructions I was to make connection and install Sentinel from the SD card. My thinking is I would use my updated version on computer to update SD card after I make connection and be done with it.

You have sentinel, plug in the scanner and it should find it and install any firmware upgrades. You can then update the database and create favorites in sentinel and it will save it to the scanner.
