SEPTA PD dispatch on 502.68750 has been transmitting with a CTCSS tone of 131.8 Hz within the last 2 days. Perhaps this is part of a radio upgrade?

During the SEPTA strike in the area of one of their bus depots I also heard what sounded like transit police operations on 458.4625 and 458.8625. Both were in P25 mode with a 0B3 NAC.

The 450 freqs are probably simplex tac freqs. As far as the CTCSS tone, I haven't seen it on the repeater but SEPTA uses the 131.8 PL on the TX for all radios but the repeater is CSQ. This is the SEPTA Transit Conventional Radio Plan I have.

502.6875 131.8 PL SEPTA PD Talk Around - this may be what you heard.

502.7625 131.8 PL SEPTA BSL/BSR Talk Around.
502.7875 (505.7875) SEPTA MFSE Repater - 131.8 PL on input.
502.7875 131.8 PL SEPTA MFSE Talk Around.
504.1375 131.8 PL SEPTA Yard Simplex Ops

The Regional Rail uses 141.3 PL on TX only as well.

Hope this helps.

I myself just observed the 131.8 PL on the repeater output. So far only on the PD repeater which also simulcasts PPD J Band. The other repeater outputs are still CSQ.
