Serial/GPS cable.

Are the serial program cable for the 15/246t/346xt/396xt/etc. the same as hp1-gps cable?
I have close to fifty of the serial program cables, I noticed that the serial program and the hp-1 gps have a different model #, If different why?

The adapter cable is Uniden P/N# BWZG1844001. It's needed to connect the GPS cable to the serial mini. "Adapter Cable Use with BCD396XT/ 346XT/ HOMEPATROL and DMA Scanners"
