Just going through my radios and recording the serial number.
The SR30C serial has worn or rubbed off the rear.
All that is left is 385A
On the box is S/N 18011825 on a stick-on label.
I am assuming that would be the correct one.
Does that sound about right?

Just guessing! Try removing the batteries. Some scanners have the serial number in the battery compartment.

Thanks for the wiki link.

No, looked under the batteries.
I would say the one on the box would be correct.
My other radios matched with the serials on their boxes.
Strange it should wear off.
Not much point recording the number now.
If it got stolen, you'd never track it by the serial number.

Most of mine are either wearing off or completely gone. If you hold your radio a lot they wear off over time. Putting the sticker in the battery compartment, or a 2nd one there, probably would have made a lot more sense on Uniden's part.

Not really sure what good serial numbers are in the event of a theft anyways. Any thief can go home and remove the sticker in 2 minutes.

The SR30C is one of the few models that does not have it in a menu. I don't recall if there is any key combination that will show it or not.
