Serial port flow control

What sort of flow control is used for the various radio programs that use the data slicer via serial port?

I have an automatic serial port switch that passes no data and shows the computer's status as RTS=High at all times. If these programs use XON/XOFF, then I need to figure out how to disable hardware flow control - either at the serial port or within the switching circuitry.

What sort of flow control is used for the various radio programs that use the data slicer via serial port?

Some use DSR/DTR - although that's more for determining that the radio is powered on - not really flow control.
