There were a series of motor vehicle crashes in Burlington and Camden counties. Right now there is one on 73 and norcross Rd. in Winslow. BLS 2556 (Winslow EMS) was dispatched to the scene for a male lying on the ground. Squad 25 was also dispatched.
Earlier this morning there was a serious crash at rte 206 near stokes road in Shamong. BLS units 2892, 2893, 2894 (Shamong EMS) as well as EMS 43-9 (Tabernacle Twp) responded, along with Rescue 2818 And ALS units 31, 100 and Camden County ALS 42 who was later recalled by BLS on scene. Two helicopters were also flown to the scene, though I am not clear on whether they landed or not, but there were several injuries.

It seems to me we get a little rain and everyone goes nuts.
For everyone who has to commute this morning or anytime today I wish you all a safe trip

The accidents happen because idiots and morons refuse to slow down and drive with a little extra caution when the roads are wet. Many of them are p**s poor drivers on dry roads, and when we have rain, it makes them even more dangerous. I say, if they wreck, they deserve what they get. Unfortunately, many times, innocent people become victims also.

So your point is?

Other than taking up space here, of what value is a posting like this?

The Point Is...

The point of doing this is to make everyone aware of what may be going on in their area. If people were to check this site before stepping out the door this morning, perhaps they would have known to avoid route 73 or 206. Although most motorists are aware that in inclement weather there are very dangerous drivers out on the road, this is unfortunately a sobering reminder of the fact. And it is my hope that in seeing this people will take care not to be those dangers on the road

There used to be a "Breaking News" thread where everybody would post about things that are happening in case others were not listening or away from the shack. Its probably burried way down in the threads somewhere.

I think it's the other way around, a little bit of rain and people are doing 30mph in a 65mph zone.

Other state forums here on RadioReference.com have a sub-forum for incidents & breaking news. See Colorado for an example of this. If there is much interest in this sort of content, someone lobbying for it should post in the Admin forum or e-mail Lindsay to request it for NJ.

We shouldn't make posts about the things we hear on our scanners. I mean if everyone would do that, this forum would be a junk yard of different accidents all over the country.

Well, not "word for word", at least. We need a breaking news forum like some other states have.

Breaking incidents

Yea, it would be nice and we can relate what frequencies can be used to monitor and if you aren't interested... then you don't have to read about it.
