I have setup OpenVPN on linux and while it isn't all that hard, unless you have linux/unix experience, it is not a very easy process to follow.

I would suggest replacing your router with an ASUS brand and install asuswrt. OpenVPN is built into the firmware and you can have it up and running in a very short time.

But does it stream audio over the VPN?

Does audio stream ok over that setup?

I have setup a gazillion VPN and while the remote control works there is no audio,

I can't seem to get a definitive answer from anyone including Uniden about whether this is going to work or not, I know I've wasted a lot of time on it.

I guess I must be giving up because I'm looking on eBay and Amazon now for the Whistlers.
