Setting PSR800 to start scan on dc power up ?

Is there a setting to enable to have the scanner automatically go into scanning when DC power is applied?
I'd like to pull the batteries, plug 5v from the car USB port to the scanner, and have the scanner turn on and scan when I turn the car on. Right now it just powers up. Thanks - Dan KB2DR

If you are turning the scanner on and off by applying and removing USB power, you're playing with fire. I don't really know the reason but my 800 seems to corrupt the miniSD card from time to time when I do that. I suspect that the scanner writes to the card on power-down and removing power instead of doing a shut down using the power button will sometimes interrupt that write and corrupt the data.

Nah, not doing it now.. and certainly wont now that I've seen your message. Best I go with my original idea and mount a mobile in the car. Thanks
