Hello all, I need help, I am extremly knew to this. My boyfriend runs a website for Lake City Fire Department in South Carolina in Florence County. I have been listening to Radio Reference for some months now and he has asked me to see if someone can help him with setting up a feed on the FD's website so that people who visit the site can listen to Lake City Fire if they have a call. Is there some type of software we can use or what exactly do we need to do? Can someone please give us some direction we have no clue where to start. Thanks so much!

If you use Radioreference as your feed host than we supply you with a player which can be embedded in the website. First, you would need to apply for a feed than once that feed is approved we provide you with software which you send the feed to Radioreference. Than you would apply for a API key and once you have that you can use the Radioreference player to embed in the website.

you know I really like the RR way to do it but wish I could still work something out that people would have to go to my website or something. I have ads and it is not much but sometimes it might pay a month or two of hosting. Wish right on the main page when they stream it, it would say to go to my website for more information with the link and info.
Can you take that player and also like it to my website like you can do with ustream? I can have a window in a frame right on the website coming from ustream so they can go to ustream with your ads or go to my website with ads and we are both happy and I only have one stream coming out of my network.
Anyone?

OK, im trying to understand what exactly your saying. I went to your site and seen how the usstream player is embedded in your site. Thats the same thing as the RR player. You would send the feed to RR and you can get a player to put on your site that will play the audio you are sending to RR.

If this is not what you are referring to can you try and explain a little better to me?

Edit: are referring to a relay feed?

So I can have the same screen that is on the RR website of my stream showing on my website just like you say on my website? If so that is perfect and I will start doing it.
It is easy to do video as well?
With the RR website software, will it auto reconnect if I loose my internet connection or if the power goes out and comes back on and start the program and connect? I hate that I have to start the program manually if I loose internet or the power even goes out.
Thanks for the help!

This is not for video, this is only for playing the feed on your website. The player will look like the screenshot but with the RR logo and your feed name. You can configure scannercast (the broadcasting software) to start automatically. You would have to add scannercast to your windows startup programs and check "start broadcast when scannercast starts" on the software.
