Wanted to get everyone's opinion on this. Personally I think the deputies did the right thing, given the circumstances.

I think it is good that they didn't go in like the gestapo, that always leaves a worst taste in ones' mouth than anything you would drink.
I used to hate it when they poured out the beer, but it was better than facing my dad or some girl's dad and explaining everything you were doing.

WAAAYYY back when I was that age, the same thing happened to a group of us. It's a misdemeanor, and most agencies give their LEO's a lot of leeway in enforcing that level of crime.
My guess is that since most of the kids were being cooperative, the cops gave them a break. I imagine that they still did FI cards on all of them, and if this happens again with any of them, they won't get a break the next time. It's all good.
