Thanks P.J.

I just watched it.

Those certainly are interesting. I'm glad they take the time to produce them and make all of the information available to those with more than a passing interest. It's a far cry from the olden days when meteorologists were afraid of mentioning the "T" word in public for fear of creating mass panic among the masses.

Hey no problem! I like the briefings as well. They are straight to the point and the computer does the talking. Yeah it could be a pretty bad day. Those that go out there please be careful!

For those not in the area...

Wow, those storms popped up quick!

And Edmond got hit by a tornado again. The Edmond TGIDs on the state system are BUSY. (Well, most in the metro are busy. OHP shut down I-35 for a while too, around Waterloo road.)

Sounds like something happened around NW Hwy & Rockwell, lots of gas leaking. I'm not good at receiving all this info this fast! :D

Channel 4 had some great footage of the tornado as it tracked into Edmond from the west.

And the second potentially-tornadic storm is headed into Edmond now!

The cells just keep on coming from the southwest...

...I just wish I could get some rain out of this! Everything's passing just west of me, here in Bethany. I've had a grand total of 0.02" of rain so far!

Edit: OKC, Putnam City and Edmond schools are in lockdown, not letting the kids out until all of this passes.

NW Hwy & Rockwell did have a tornado touch down as well. Quite a bit of damage in that area too.

Funny picture on 4, all the smashed cars and windows, ripped up roofs, downed lines. And in the median of NW Hwy is one of those red clothing and shoes donation boxes, still intact on its side! :)

Hi Joe. A replay of last year. The rotation lifted just west of my shop east of Quail Springs mall and dropped at 150th and Penn. Also went west of my home in Warr Acres.
But if the training line moves east before weakening it could get exciting.
Maybe I spoke too soon...

Hey, Clyde! Heard you on .52, but was busy elsewhere. Sounds like excitement for you.

I just talked with my mom, they live just a few blocks away from me in Bethany, so didn't figure they'd be in any danger. Well... A little after noon, they decided to go to lunch. At the Wendy's on NW Hwy! So they're in the store, just 1/2 mile from Rockwell, when it all comes in. The manager brought a TV out so they and the few others in the store could watch. Everyone else there just happened to be from out of state. One lady had recently moved here from New Orleans - she'd had enough with Katrina! Although she did say afterward she'd rather put up with this stuff than another hurricane.

They didn't even realize all the damage had occurred just 1/2 mile down the road, although they figured *something* was up since there was a steady stream of emergency vehicles headed that way. When they finally decided to leave, on the way down Council they ran across that second cell with its large lowering by Wiley Post. Freaked my mom out rather nicely...

I'm *finally* getting some rain - picked up in just the last half hour or so. I'm now up to a whopping 1/2 inch! :p

I'm listening to KKAJ 95.7 in Ardmore using wunderradio on my iPhone. Lone Grove sounds like one huge mess.

They are now simulcasting KXII TV. People trapped in debris.
