I'm going to be visiting the Pigeon Forge area. I just want to confirm the TACN site listed as the "Greentop Mountain" site in the database is the closest site for monitoring in Pigeon Forge. Yes, I see that most of Sevier County LE is encrypted, but supposedly Pigeon Forge is in the clear.

Cut/Paste link. The sites and counties are not named but I am sure you can figure out which one is Sevier county then click on the dot(s) to determine which sites are close to where you will be. Safe travels.

Greentop (02-21) basically overlooks Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, and PFPD units are affiliated there 24/7. You also may hear (if anyone is affiliated to Greentop) Alcoa PD, Blount Co Sheriff, TN Highway Patrol, Pigeon Forge Trolly Ops, and some limited PFFD Paging.

You may also be able to listen to English Mountain (02-47) in nearby Cocke Co, the Knox Co Simulcast sites (03-10), or Knox Sharps Ridge (02-20). If you end up over in Townsend, there is a site there as well (02-29) but I'm not certain how much traffic you'll hear over that way.

As you mentioned, the bulk of LE in Sevier County (as well as Knox County) is E, but Pigeon Forge is definitely clear. If there's an event in town (think car show) there are sometimes also comms on LE Mutual Aid talk groups. Enjoy your visit!

Thanks!
We have visited once before, many years ago. I can mainly recall the very heavy traffic on the main drag!
