Sevierville, Pidgeon Forge, & Gatlainburg

Hi Gang- I am looking for information on monitoring the Sevier County Trunked system. Does anyone know what type of system it is and have a list of who's on it and talk group codes?

I recently visited the area to attend the NASCAR race in Bristol and was snookered as I thought I was staying in Knoxville and thus had my BC250D programmed with the Knox County System.

I was impressed with the area and I plan to come back to the area soon to bring the family to Dollywood and the parks. I am particularly interested in getting information to monitor public safety in Sevierville, Pidgeon Forge, & Gatlainburg.

Sevier County Trunk???

I have lived in this area since the early '80s. I am not sure why
there is a listing for a Sevier County trunk system, maybe because
it is located inside the county boundaries. The county
DOES NOT use a trunk system, the trunk listed is for Knox County
and is used primarily for business use, I lable this system Knox County
trunk system #2 and is located on top of a mountain located in Sevier County.
Knox county's main system for Police and Fire is another system.
I have a webpage that is extremly detailed in scanner frequencies
used in the county, it does not contain every frequency but I am

This will give you about 10 counties in East Tennessee.

Frequencies for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are in the database under North Carolina/Other Statewide Systems.

FCC search for Sevier County does not show any Trunked Radio Service in the county. Not even Nextel!

I have to diagree with you on the FCC database NOT showing trunk
systems. Any service labled with a 'Y_' is a trunk system.
Example:
'YG' represents a trunked business license
'YW' would represent a trunked public service license.
'YX' would represent an experimental trunked license.

'IG' and 'PW' represent a conventional frequency license.

The database does list them in the search in both the
old listing and new version 2 listing that the FCC uses
for searches.

Also notice that many LTR trunked systems DO NOT show up as TRUNKED in any flavor..... Many of the UHF LTR systems especially the Passport LTR stuff is listed as PW NOT any of the Y anythings.... So it can be tricky finding them,.. You will have to monitor them and see,.. or if your county/city lists on an official website as to what they are using.

Hmm. According to the FCC's information, the modulation will be analog (F3E) and F1E (Digital, on-off or quantized, no modulation).
