In south bay San Jose, Ca I noticed a trunking control channel on 163.4625 MHz.
My BCD996T setup is like this...
Base 162.0000, step 12.5 kHz, offset 380, 9600 baud
165.0125 165.1875 165.2250 165.4125 166.0000 166.2250
So far nothing to listen to. Any help?

tnx jim vm

If you park your 996 on that control channel, can you tell us what the radio is displaying as far as a system ID, tower number and WACN?

Never Mind!

It seems that I am receiving an image. Tried 3 different receivers and I can only
hear a very strong control channel on my Optocom. If you add the IF frequency
of 612 MHz to 163.4625, I still don't hear it. It is probably a close by trunking site.
Thanks anyway.

I figured it out somewhat!

I was receiving the control channel from Lockheed Martin's trunking site on Mission Peak,
near Milpitas. There control channel is 857.3875 for today and is 15 air miles from me.
Trying to make sense why I can hear it on 163.4625 on my Optoelectronics Optocom.
I think the first IF is around 610-612 MHz. And I thought the Optocom was a FB rcvr!

I believe the Optocom receiver section is a copy of the PRO-2005/2006 GRE board, or very similar.

And yes, I've seen some really weird images when you least expect them...
