SFD Station Alerting

Some new videos of SFD's Locution Station alerting operating in-house. Interesting how it plays a somewhat different message than on the radio. Specifically more tones and announcing the units responding before the normal dispatch message we hear on the radio.

Those initial tones are set locally at each station. They are kept on a compact flash card reader. Station 10 has Emergency 51 tones by request. Station 2 has traditional bell sounds by request. Some stations still have wind up mechanical bells attached to the station alerting system that work with or replace the Locution initial tones. There is a delay built into the Locution files at the station to allow these initial tones to be played, then you are hearing the normal message.

It doesn't sound new to me, but then again, I worked on it for 6 years.
