Share scanner over home lan?

I am sure this has been asked but what software i available for sharing a scanner over a home LAN?

Best way? MS Media Player?

I would look for Windows Media Encoder, I believe its free, I got with a TV tuner PC Card, But I would google for it if you dont have that program, Ive used the program to watch tv outside on my pocket pc, but it should work good for just audio as well.
