Sharon FD channel 2?

Heard on the main channel that they were "striking the box, I'll give you channel 2 for fireground" just now. Using search it sounds like channel 2 is 483.1375 ..the police channel 1? Why was the FD operating on it as a fireground channel? Odd

483.1375 141.3 is the police primary channel.

Channel 2 fire ground likely means they're going to Norfolk County Fire channel 02 482.3000 151.4. Especially when you hear them say "I'll give you channel 2 for fire ground", that sounds a lot like Norfolk County Control 482.275 146.2.

Sharon FD has an Ops channel listed. It is 483.3375 141.3; and the police dept freq is 483.1375 141.3. They look similar. Your eyes could've been playing tricks on you.

I agree that it sounds like they were given the countywide Fireground #2 channel though.

When holding on 483.1375 I was hearing a lot of what sounded like the fire department, which is why I at first mistook it for FD 2. I was scanning though 480-485MHZ trying to locate if they had a channel 2 that wasn't listed and didn't catch anything else. I wish I recorded it now. Oh well.

Usually looking at the fd's fcc license might show other freqs that are just not listed in our database but the call sign listed in the db is wrong as WIK764 pulls up a license for a heating and ac company in Pennsylvania that expired in 2000

The correct call sign is WIK794 FCC Callsign WIK794 (SHARON, TOWN OF)

From just a quick look, looks like there is just one freq. You could try searching the other freq associated with that frn and see if anything additional comes up. FCC FRN: 0004890406 (SHARON, TOWN OF - FIRE DEPT)

They could also have additional freqs licensed under another call sign. There's a bunch of that here on Long Island

I heard the initial call on the fire primary ops channel, the "I'll give you channel 2 for fireground". Definitely wasn't on that. It wasn't until I went to save it and my scanner said it already exists did I cross check and see it was the PD main channel. I have no explanation, I guess I'll just keep an eye on them in the future. If I hear it again I know I'm not going insane 😂

So you heard the Dispatcher say that sentence on the Police Disp channel?..is that correct? If so, they probably just selected the wrong channel on their computer screen before keying the mic.

Does the archive have Sharon PD, or county FG 2 recorded?
