I couldn't find any info on either base.
Does anyone have any info?
I'm more interested in the type of system existing at the base - SmartNet/SmartZone, Analog/Digital, APCO 25 . . .

Anyone? :D

From my time in Charleston/N. Charleston....

Charleston AFB runs an EDACS VHF Hi TRS with Provoice enabled.

I never got all the Base/Offset info, or was sure I even had all the freqs. I was using an PRO-94A, and PRO-2052.

EDACS?

Bummer.

Thanks for the help!

I'm looking for another run-of-the-mill UHF SmartZone system.
I can't find a military listing anywhere showing the latest and greatest systems being used by each base.

It's kind of crazy that I have to go to a public database for that kind of info . . .

Well post 9-11-01, getting info on military is getting harder and harder unless you work at the specific bases.... And now more and more bases are sending us letters officially requesting we remove any and all info about them from here...

The majority of Bases using VHF are iether combined APCO-P-25/analog conventional.. or are older Legacy EDACS systems..... A few use Moto VHF's....

Most UHF systems are Moto's, though the Fort Polk system is an EDACS.

From what I have been told, all the EDACS systems are being switched to Moto ASTRO's soon.

I'm not sure that Shaw uses any kind of TRS. I've never heard mention of one.

You might post your question on the Charleston-Scan yahoo group. There are more people monitoring military comms active on that list that might have a better answer to your question.

Thru my own research and poking around I found out that Shaw is using a Motorola trunking system but I don't know the particulars.

I am located at least 50 miles from Shaw, but I occasionaly hear a Motorola data channel in the 163-169 range- I don't recall the actual frequency. It has never been strong enough for me to track but I have theorized that it is Shaw. Try searching that range.
