Shawnee PD 42544 (Site 8)

Is there anybody besides me that is hearing the curious sound on 42544. I heard it in the car on my portable this morning when I was running errands and thought that it was intermod, even though I never hear intermod on the trunked system. I also am hearing it on the base radio at the house.

It does not appear to be restricted to a single voice channel as I have heard it on two different channels in the last couple of minutes.

What do you suppose it is?

Edit: I might add that it only occurs immediately after a transmission and is only occasional.

I believe it is the Carney Site reporting that it is in site trunking.

That makes as much sense as anything. I heard the same thing after a transmission on Turner 1 (42128) on Thursday.
