The Sheboygan county sheriff's office are now encrypting their radio feed on the main dispatch channel.

Is this on the p25 or analog system? Is the analog system still in use? I was going to stop by my parents' place for dinner in the city tomorrow and see how my op25 scanner project works with the Sheboygan county digital system.

The analog system has been gone for a few years now. Most users from the analog system transitioned to the new P25 system. I am not sure if its true, but I had heard that a few users of the old analog system went back to VHF when the county made the switch to the new P25 system. As for the Sheboygan SO being ENCRYPTED, I can't chime in since I am in Milwaukee.

I know the City of Sheboygan PD is 100% ENCRYPTED and on the county side they were able to choose if they wanted to be encrypted or be in the clear and its very possible that they are now 100% ENCRYPTED I am unable to confirm since I don't live within range of the Sheboygan system

Sheriff's dispatch is encrypted some mobiles still in the clear but not for long. For what? And during a pandemic?

By silencing many ears they lost many eyes.
