A team of trained and experienced assessors representing the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) will be conducting an on-site evaluation of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office from August 19, 2006 through August 23, 2006. The CALEA assessment team is responsible for determining the level of compliance, by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, with internationally recognized law enforcement standards of performance.

The re-accreditation evaluation of the Triple Crown Accredited, Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office will include an examination of the diverse equipment used to serve the people of our community. In conjunction with the CALEA re-accreditation evaluation, Sheriff Grayson Robinson invites the community to participate in a Sheriff’s Office Open House. The equipment display and open house will be open to the public on Sunday August 20, 2006 from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. and will be held at 13101 East Broncos Parkway Centennial, Colorado.

The display of equipment will include the mobile command post/communications unit, traffic vehicles, bomb truck and equipment, Special Response Unit (swat) vehicle and equipment, snowmobiles, hazardous materials vehicle and equipment, crime lab (CSI) vehicle and equipment, detention vehicles, all terrain vehicles, emergency management equipment and a telecommunications vehicle. Additionally, there will be specific information available regarding unique programs that have been implemented by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office; Project Lifesaver, Graffiti Removal, Citizen Emergency Response Teams, Victim Assistance, Drop It - Lock It - Stop It, Sheriff’s Explorer Post, Bait Car and Community Resources/Crime Prevention. The Sheriff’s Office Open House will also provide recruiting material for individuals who may be interested in exploring employment opportunities with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

The women and men of the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office serve with pride, integrity and a dedicated community spirit.
