The new City of Sherman P25 system came alive and is in the testing mode as of today. Hearing radio techs on TGRP 9119 in the clear. Various other key ups on other TGRP's as well in the 91xx range. The SW tower site is about a mile from my house so I'm obviously getting an excellent signal.

I saw @mikebennett's post just as I was unloading the mobile rig. After an unsccessful quick test from my home base, reloaded the mobile rig and I'm now set up at the QuikTrip on 1417 @ 75.

System ID is C0907.F09, Site 1.01, NAC F09 (this is the same as Balch Springs and Gainesville, so Tait doesn't seem to want to use a unique system ID).

No traffic yet, but it does confirm one (official source) report that Sherman and Gainesville are teamed up and this is likely a single system for both of them.

Haven't heard any coms the past hour. They must have called it a day.

I had my home "research" radio set up on search so it only picked up the control channel. When I noticed it was locked on I turned on my handheld which has the new system programmed and starting picking up the test transmissions. I've now switched the base radio to exclusively monitor the new system in TGRP search mode. Tomorrow should be a productive day.

Back home now, and the mobile rig lost the signal just North of 121 (and of course I'm 1/2 mile South of 121) - tried fine tuning the antenna, and my less-than-optimal antenna arrangement at my home base left me with nothing (yet I can pick up Dallas Layer 1, albeit with errors, but it comes in strong at night).

I'll go back through the City Council agenda, since that's where I recall reading they were working with Gainesville, and if I can find that reference, I'll submit the request to the RRDB admins to consolidate the two entries, along with my findings today.

Finally found the reference to the Gainesville and Sherman systems being a single system - where I read it was not from the City Council but from a press release from Tait directly:

Gainesville is also fostering collaboration with neighboring Sherman, which utilizes the same system. This partnership aims to establish seamless communication between the two cities, further enhancing emergency response capabilities and coordination.

PD testing yesterday on TGRP 9111. (Possibly future dispatch TGRP ?)

Picked up the system full bars up to the Bryan Co/Atoka Co line, except for a dropout North of Durant in a low spot. Surprised the signal carried that far as I don't believe any of the tower sites have that much height.

Ok, thanks. I haven't seen Wesley in years. Last time was setting up a conventional P25 simulcast for Durant, OK.
Looks like I was wrong about that. The vendor is Stolz Telcom out of Denton. I thought Shipman was on the original license back in the summer but I just checked and it's Stolz. Also see MWJONES previous post.

Aren't they gonna need a few more towers for a "seamless" joint system?

I'll work combining the systems in the DB. Since Sherman has site 1-1, we'll just add the Gainesville stuff to it, and name it something like Sherman/Gainesville until somebody comes up with a better name. Interesting how Cooke County joined Denton but the cities are on their own.

I was parked for about an hour Monday monitoring, and saw that the site is also announcing Gainesville as a neighbor (and I would presume vice-versa). As a result I picked up a lot of comms on the Gainesville PD talk group. The radio activity file showed some radios in TG's 9111 and 9121 - and I have a TDMA flag on 9121, which means that somebody possibly keyed up on it - I just need to pull the audio files to see, which I'll try and do that tonight)

I think PD & FD have completely transitioned to the new system as of this afternoon. 9111 is PD dispatch, 9121 FD. Also ID'd 9151 as Sherman ISD Police. I'm also getting the Gainesville stuff as well.

Has anyone heard anything from the Sheriff's Department since Saturday? I'm still hearing the fire channel but nothing from the SO.
