When you are at the mall put your scanner in CloseCall mode, that way you can find the many smaller stores that use radios. Many malls have switched to DMR for mall ops (security and housekeeping) so the 125 will not work for them but most small stores and some of the larger ones use various VHF and UHF frequencies. Since they change so often the database will not be very complete with them.

You won't be able to pick up Woodfield Mall operations using a BC125AT, you'll need a DMR capable receiver as alluded to in post #2. Same with Old Orchard Mall security & ops. You may have luck with Golf Mill, they're still listed as analog in the DB, though this may soon change or have changed (license is up for renewal this August). You can try scanning the common retail frequencies I Included in post #5, mainly 467.850, 467.875, 467.900 & 467.925. Many (though not all) retailers still utilize these 4 in analog
