Yes , i am aware of cc crane , but i was looking for some active frequencies for world news , it would take a week to weed through cc crane list just to find stuff that is still active . Surely there is some shortwave listeners out here that wouldn't mind sharing some of there active freqs.
But thanks Dr D .

I would start by checking into the World of Radio reflector on groups.io. Admin is the well known DXer Glenn Hauser, and is absolutely chock full of DX tips, station news and schedules.

There are also various lists from places like the HFCC which will give you the (semi) official operating schedules of many stations. Their list is free, as is several others. In fact the NASWA master list is also still available from their reflector on groups.io, which assembles many sources into 1 list.

All this and more are available from section 7 of...

I'd start with WRMI's schedule since their transmitters are located in the US (Florida) (WRMI-Radio Miami International :: Programming) and have a few foreign broadcast feeds. As for transmitters outside of the US, while the band conditions are at their minimum it will be hit and miss. I usually catch RNZI (New Zealand) on 6115kHz early the mornings US time. Other broadcasters easily heard in the US that have English services are Radio Cuba (might Google them to get their broadcast service), and Radio Argentina (which I think still has a feed thru WRMI)....

Have fun!

You mean R Habana and RAE Argentina I'm sure...

There's one reflector still on Yahoo groups that has lots of schedule news and DX information - the DX Listening Digest (DXLD) also run by Glenn Hauser. Been around for ages.

Gotta update the SWBC page...Mike

Here in New Zealand we call Radio New Zealand "Red Radio" for good reason. Total sycophantic support for our incompetent and dishonest hard socialist government. If you are looking for the truth, listen elsewhere. RNZI is mostly rebroadcast Red Radio.
