shortwave radios/scanners

i enjoy listening to scanners but also like shortwave.would a good shortwave radio be able
to pick up scanner stuff?would like to have a all in one radio

There are lots of receivers that can cover shortwave and "scanner bands" in one unit. However scanners in general act much different than a radio. Naturally if you need any trunking or digital scanning needs, you won't be able to do that in a communications receiver.

iCOM and AOR make excellent radios.

Looking on ebay, you can find the Yupiteru MVT-7100 its a pretty good wide band receiver with fast scan rate, lots of memories, covers AM/FM/WFM/SSB of course it doesn't do trunking. But if you want it for conventional scanning and shortwave, its a good little handheld.
