MT. POCONO AIRPORT DRILL

On Saturday, May 9, 2009 beginning at 7:00 AM and concluding at 3:00 PM the Northeast Pennsylvania Regional Counter Terrorism Task Force will conduct an exercise at the Mount Pocono Airport. This training scenario in which a small commuter plane crashes at the airport and results in mass casualties will test the response capabilities of the county’s first responders.
Residents and persons traveling along Route 611 north of the Borough of Mt. Pocono will observe numerous police, fire and ambulance units and personnel in the area. This is only a drill and no one needs to be concerned that this is a real emergency.
