I've heard 2 EAMs already this morning. On 11175. I'm keeping it locked on this frequency! Also is there a certain time frame when the military decides to switch from the day frequencies to the night frequencies? Also is 11175 the "primary channel to hear EAMs?

So Far Away....
Hi,what are you using to read the EAMs?(EAMs are not voice traffic,Right?
Im setting up PCALE-with an AR8200-3 for scanning..

Im new to HF,Been waiting a while to get a good radio to monitor..seems,
in a morbid way to be a good time to drop in on this end of the spectrum...

and ok,this is a rookie question, but 11175usb would be keyed in 11.175USB right?
and say andrews-8992USB would enter as 8.9920USB?
Thanks for clarification..

EAMs are voice traffic. They are just a string of characters read out by the radio operator. And yes you are correct on the frequencies

Yes you are correct. 11175 would be 11.175 USB and 8.992usb also EAMs are voice transmissions. They are encrypted phoenetic alphabet letters and numbers.

North Korea advises for diplomats to leave before April 10, 2013. After that date they can no longer guarantee safety. This will be the date to tune in. 1300z = 0000z (12am) North Korean time. So April 9th at 1300z is April 10th at 00:00z (12am).

USAF:
15016 (Best during day time)
13200
11175 (Primary Frequency)
8992 (Secondary Frequency - Best at Night)
6739
4724

13155 TACAMO
8776 TACAMO
6697 TACAMO

Also a note on airborne EAM broadcast by air mobile command posts. (All in USB Mode and In kHz)

Mostly USAF EAMs from these stations will occur on:

(Day Time or Daylight Hours)
15016, 11175 and 8992 Simultaneously

(Night Time or Dark Hours)
11175, 8992, and 4724 Simultaneously

US NAVY TACAMO (Airborne Only)
13155, 8776, 6697
(These are hard to catch)

Also Try UHF Frequencies for EAM's.

As far as I know there are no fixed switched times between 11175 and 8992. 11175 always seems primary to my understanding.

I just got through catching six (6) EAM's on 8992 in the space of about 50 minutes. I thought these were generally infrequent?
Hardly, though no one really knows the schedule. However with the tensions rising in North Korea, it's not out of the question that this activity starts to increase.

I'm hearing some activity on 8.992 right now. I have a far from ideal setup, so it's very weak. Sounds like a computer-generated female voice reading phonetics.

I would be curious what these mean. Of course if you know then you can't tell.

I just picked up my first ever EAM on 8992.
I easily decoded it as the message states"
"Hey all, if he makes a move over there we will have a new Super Walmart Location"
End message

They have been transmitting EAM's what seems like every 5 min. I've been listening using web SDR
