I have a BCD325P2. It’s worked well and I like it but there are a few issues. Im wondering if the SDS100 would help some of these issues.
The first issue I have with the 325P2 is battery life. The battery life is very short for my applications. I have a scanner for personal use but I also use it for the 2 fire departments I work at for monitoring law enforcement and other counties. I need at least 10+ hours of battery life. I’m also wondering if the SDS100 is worth the price if I already have the 325P2. I’ve watched some videos regarding it and it seems very much the same.

HAHA you definitely won't get this with the SDS100 with normal use (maybe, just maybe if you kept it held onto a seldom active frequency with battery saver on you might). Also the SDS100's battery is proprietary (meaning it won't accept standard AA batteries). This can be a deciding factor for some.
Is anything you monitor LSM simulcast? If not, stick with what you have if it works well for you

Definitely not the first time this question has been asked here. See also these threads (I'm certain there are others)

If you have no simulcast issues you are probably better off with the 325p2 and a second set of rechargeable AA's.

On the other hand, I get much better area coverage with the sds100, mostly due to the simulcast issue in my area. I get at least 4 systems that the 325p2 doesn't hear at all. 7 or 8 hours is max run time but a second batter and charger isn't crazy expensive after you but the sds100.

Where do you live? I own a 436HP and SDS 100. After I finally figured out how to set the radio parameters, it works like a charm.

I know this is blasphemy for the Uniden purists but your issue is exactly why I went with the Whistler TRX-1 a few years back, it holds 4 AA batteries and will get 10 hours on 2300 Interstate rechargeable, note that they are recharged in an external charger that can actually tell the condition and not in the "timer" charger in the radio. Also keep in mind both of these radios choke on heavy simulcast;.

My SDS 100 gets about 6-7 hrs on a charge, and since its a proprietary battery AND the SDS battery cover clasp is notorious for breaking I use a 25000 MAh battery pack for extended monitoring.

I have both, the 325p2, and the 436HP. I have had the 325p2 since 2015. I bought/was given the 436HP this past Christmas. I had already been debating between the 436HP and, the SDS100. For me, simulcasting was not a good enough reason to spend the extra $$$ to get the SDS100. But, Regardless of which one, I keep the 436HP n' 325p2 constantly connected via USB. I do have to turn the 436HP off to charge it. But that is a small hinderence. Otherwise, I have no problem with it.
