Listening to a 450 Passport system and not seeing the radio IDs in place of "-----" to the right of the Group ID. Groups are showing up. GRP and SYS files are being created and can be edited (titles that are added get displayed) but no other files are being created. LTRDump can see the radio IDs and they are being recorded in the log.

This is on LTR Tr384 beta ec4 using a filtered slicer on a W98 laptop with 90% signal quality.

Any ideas? Do I need to create an empty radio id file (if so, what's the name)? Is there an option that is keeping the radio IDs from being displayed?

I didn't find anything in the forums about this - maybe my search technique isn't effective.

GREAT tool otherwise. (Thanks, Eric!)

There should be menu options at the bottom of the screen. Hit the v key to turn verbose mode on.

It already is. I tried both V and v settings with no change.

I have no Passport systems nearby, so I can't provide a definite answer for the original question. Just FYI, though, LTR-Regular doesn't show radio IDs and LTR-Multinet does show them.

Same here. Note that regular LTR does not transmit radio ID's in the subaudible data so there is nothing to display.

This is a Passport system and radio IDs are being decoded by LTRDump.

Thanks for the additional info, though.

Perhaps Eric can tell me the error of my ways.

Hello,

For now only LTRDump decodes the radio ID. I did not include it in LTRTrunk yet.

The Radio ID on Passport is only sent on the channel being used by the talkgroup so it is not there all the time.

One design decision for both Passport and MPT-1327 systems deals with talkgroups and radio IDs. On Passport there are over 60,000 ids for a site that is divided between talkgroups and radio ids. That is why Passport talkgroups are big numbers like over 59000. MPT-1327 is similar. I have to make a decision on how to default the talkgroup and radio id mapping and allow the user to change it.

I put most of the work into LTRDump because that is what I use the most. Unfortunely I have not touched the code in a few months due to other projects, like gainful employment. I want to compile under the Openwatcom 1.4 compiler and clean up the code before adding more features.

Consider a look at the Digital Mars compiler. I think it's easier to setup than OpenWatcom.

Thanks for the info and all of the hard work, Eric. Radio IDs are not a big deal for me so I can use LTRDump if I really need to know.

Have you had any luck using LTRTrunk with a USB serial port adapter on a laptop along with a regular serial port to track Passport with a second receiver?

I track MultiNet and regular LTR with a single serial port and a Y cable. You should be able to track Passport the same way. Ltrtrunk should really be run in DOS. Getting a USB port with serial adapter working in DOS is not possible as far as I know.

Unless you can get DOS drivers for it, Y cable it is. Thanks.
