Hi all, question regarding Shrewsbury in Monmouth County.

For Shrewsbury Fire/EMS, the database says it is dispatched by Monmouth County on Central Paging and Fire operates on VHF Central Response. However, the database also shows the below. Which is correct ?
155.190KGW756RM073 DPLShrws FD/EMSFire and EMS Dispatch / OperationsFMNFire Dispatch

For Shrewsbury Police, the database is showing the below but I was told tonight that Shrewsbury PD is operating on the county DTR system. I see nothing in the database for any Shrewsbury PD talk group in the Monmouth County DTR system.
154.800KGW756RM503 DPLShrws PolicePolice DispatchFMNLaw Dispatch

Thanks in advance!

Shrewsbury PD is off the VHF and onto the Monmouth County TRS (encrypted)

FD & EMS likewise is toned out on the County Central VHF and fire responds on the Central VHF response channel; EMS is also toned out on the VHF, but response is on the County TRS EMS central talk group.

Shrewsbury FD had a dedicated local fire repeater 151.1525 DPL 143. Some local towns with local repeaters like Colts Neck and Fair Haven continue to use them as an alternate to the county response repeater, although I can't say I have heard Shrewsbury use theirs since they made the switch to County (but I would keep it in the lineup regardless)

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions let me know.

Ok thank you! I'll pull all my SPD stuff out. So to make sure I have this correct:

Shrewsbury Fire/EMS dispatch (VHF):
154.430WQQN472B265 DPLC PAGECh 1 Central PagingFMNFire Dispatch

Shrewsbury Fire Response (VHF):
153.905WQQN472RM343 DPLC RESPCh 2 Central ResponseFMNFire-Tac

Shrewsbury EMS response (MoCo TRS):
1402636caTEMS C RespEMS Central ResponseEMS-Talk

Question - what the MoCo TRS "NCS Paging" used for?
1300832d0TNCS PagingFire & EMS DispatchFire Dispatch

For Red Bank, EMS is dispatched by HMH on the State TRS:
454511c1THMH Central OpsCentral Jersey OperationsEMS Dispatch

Red Bank fire dispatch (VHF):
154.325KSJ562RM151.4 PLFD DispFire Dispatch (EMS Talk)FMNFire Dispatch

Thanks again!!!

HMHs Red Bank unit operates on their HMH South Ops Channel. That unit also covers Shrewsbury Twp
Thanks ShoreBullets. When you say "operates" do you mean response, dispatch, or both? Because the DB is saying dispatch is on Central.

And Shrewsbury Twp as in that little tiny "township" across from the ShopRite on Shrewsbury Ave. (the apartments) - but not all of Shrewsbury, yeah?

In addition to my question above, do you mean "Shore Ops"?

Yes, Shore Ops. The unit in Red Bank is dispatched and responds on the same channel.

maybe I missed it, what TG is Shrewsbury PD on the Monmouth Co TRS?

The DB indicates VHF 154.800
I'm with you, I thought they were still on VHF but that channel has been silent. Then I was told by a very reliable source this weekend that PD was now on the county TRS. DB needs to be updated then but I have no idea what TG.

I'm happy and surprised Red Bank PD is still on UHF and hasn't made the switch to the county's encrypted TRS (yet?).

it would appear MOST Monmouth Co PD's are making the switch to E , either on the Monmouth TRS, or the NJICS. Expect more.

No plans currently to move operations in RB to County.

Also, I see a number of posts above related to Shrewsbury Township Vs the Borough. Just to be clear, Shrewsbury Twp is essentially a legacy community that was left over from all the surrounding boroughs that split away independently over a hundred years ago. The Township is basically a three or four black neighborhood that is a municipality. There has been a long history of the Township attempting to contract out fire and EMS service to towns willing to accept the responsibility. As stated, currently the JFK/HMH BLS unit positioned in RB is the BLS ambulance assigned to Shrewsbury Township. The Township receives police services from NJSP, but the Shrewsbury Police often are requested for time sensitive incidents, considering the response time of NJSP units. On a historical note, the Township did at one time have a police department, which I can only assume the small town could no longer afford to fund.

Hey RB - clear copy on the above. Question - is that JFK/HMH unit covering Shrewsbury Township dispatched/operated on MICOM HMH Central Ops or Shore Ops? Same for Red Bank - Central or Shore? The DB says Central Ops for Red Bank but that conflicts with Shore Bullets's post and if so, the DB needs to be corrected. Thanks!

I have them (JFK/HMH talkgroups) all running at the same time on my G5, hence I don't really pay attention to which talk group the RB unit pops up on, however next time I hear them getting a run I will try to take note and pass it along to you.

There is another curious point of communications for the RB JFK BLS unit, they are assigned a RBPD UHF portable, if there is a call, the police desk simply calls out their unit number as if it was a regular PD patrol unit (no tones are dropped). After that, I take it RBPD desk calls JFK and makes the same request, after that the BLS unit is dispatched officially, but as you can surmise, the ambulance is already in service most times by the time the process is completed. If the unit goes to Shrewsbury Twp., then RBPD is out of the loop and it all goes through JFK. If a ALS unit is requested into RB you will occasionally hear the unit check in on the RBFD VHF repeater to RBPD as the ALS do NOT have the RBPD UHF channel.
