Siege of Yorktown - 225th Anniversary

York County is using talkgroups 1006 and 1254 to coordinate the activities of the "Siege of Yorktown - 225th Anniversary". 1254 is used for dispatching Fire and Security. 1006 appears to be more administrative. The Anniversary is schedule between 19 and 22 October 2006.

YCSO is using talkgroup 1035 (YCSO Channel A13) to dispatch and respond to incidents at the Anniversary.

Talkgroup 1254 is being used by the National Park Service. Talkgroup 1068 is used by "operations". Looks very interesting...but it sounds like the traffic is terrible.

From listening to the radio traffic, the "Anniversary" is a major operation. York County has assistance from other jurisdiction as far away as Virginia Beach. The Security is handled by the YCSO on talkgroup 1035 with assistance from the National Park Service (1254). Most of the operations are on talkgroups 1068 and 1006. The operation appears to be very well organized and coordinated. This will be good practice for Jamestown 2007. It is a very interesting event to monitor.
